You must apply for your license after you pass your exam. In Oregon, you must submit a completed application within 12 months of passing the exam. You apply online through an organization called National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR).

Consider working with your supervisor, contact the Oregon Division of Financial Regulation (ORDFR), or email us or give us a call at 800-270-1385 and we can point you in the right direction. However, remember that the Oregon Division of Financial Regulation (ORDFR) is the official agency in Oregon that you should rely on for information regarding insurance licensing matters.

Make sure you obtain your fingerprinting through PSI Services immediately before you apply for your license, as the ORDFR only has access to your fingerprint data for 30 days. If the fingerprinting data is stale, you will have to spend another fee and get your fingerprinting done again.
