What are the requirements for me to be eligible to obtain an insurance license in Vermont?

The Vermont Department of Insurance (DOI) will issue an resident insurance producer’s (agent’s) license to individuals who:

Are at least eighteen (18) years old
Are a resident of, and actually residing in, the state of Vermont
Have passed the proper licensing examination (exam results are valid for up to one year after passing the exam)
Have submitted a completed online application with appropriate fee
Meets all other applicable license requirements
Have not committed an act for which a license may be denied
