You must apply for your license after you pass your exam. In Minnesota, you must submit a completed application within 12 months of passing the exam. You apply online through an organization called Sircon.

However, remember that the Minnesota Commerce Department is the official agency in Minnesota that you should rely on for information regarding insurance licensing matters.
Make sure you obtain your fingerprinting through Pearson VUE West or IDEMIA close to the time that you are taking your test.
