You must apply for your license after you pass your exam. In Louisiana, you must submit a completed application within 12 months of passing the exam. You apply online through an organization called National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR).

Consider working with your supervisor, contact the Louisiana Department of Insurance (LDI), or email us or give us a call at 800-270-1385 and we can point you in the right direction. However, remember that the Louisiana Department of Insurance (LDI) is the official agency in Louisiana that you should rely on for information regarding insurance licensing matters.
Make sure you obtain your fingerprinting through PSI services the same day you are tested at the PSI exam location. The LDI will need these to issue a license. If the fingerprinting data is stale, you will have to spend another fee and get your fingerprinting done again.
