If you are interested in selling insurance to individuals and businesses designed to protect property or protect individuals and businesses from liability, you are likely in need of the General Lines – Property and Casualty license. A few people only sell insurance to individuals for their property and casualty needs and need the Personal Lines – Property and Casualty license. For selling only life insurance, you could obtain your Life license, but most individuals pick up the General Lines – Life, Accident, and Health license. - Life Exam: InsTX-Life01 (English); InsTX-Life21 (Spanish) (Exam time allotment is 120 minutes; fee is $33)
- General Lines – Life, Accident & Health Exam: InsTX-LAH05 (English); InsTX-LAH25 (Spanish) (Exam time allotment is 150 minutes; fee is $43)
Note: Texas does not give an exam for Health only so you must take the General Lines-Life, Accident & Health exam to obtain your health license.
