You must apply for your license after you pass your exam. In Texas, you must submit a completed application within 12 months of passing the exam. You apply online through an organization called Sircon. (Note that certain license types – temporary licenses, Insurance Service Representative, Life and Health Insurance Counselor, and Risk Manager applicants must submit an Application for Individual Agent License, which you can find on the Texas Department of Insurance (DOI) website here or here).

Also, consider working with your supervisor, contact the Texas Department of Insurance, or email us or give us a call at 800-270-1385  and we can point you in the right direction. However, remember that the Texas Department of Insurance (DOI) is the official agency in Texas that you should rely on for information regarding insurance licensing matters.  (Make sure you keep your receipt from fingerprinting because a copy of it must be submitted along with your application for license).
